Where could it be cold, foggy, maybe quite windy?
Go North old man, go North!
So Pieter went underway to Iceland. At 63+N probably the highest latitude a modern time Imoca ever went. Plan is France-Iceland-Azores-France: a total of about 4.000nm in straight line. Return to France is foreseen for early September and then the final rush to finish the ever growing works list.
This trip has some aspects of the VG:
Getting out of the European High pressure zone was like wiggling out of the Doldrums.
Then North: every night a bit colder. Some dense fog, some drizzle. Some beautiful long distance high speed reaching. 4000nm is a good training. Just missing is the albatros. This time. See you soon giant of the far South!
